Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan introduced Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde to veteran Nollywood actors at the Oyo State at 50 anniversary celebration in Ibadan.
The interaction took place at the Cultural Centre, Mokola during activities marking the state’s golden jubilee.
Afolayan presented several Nollywood legends to the Governor, including Iya Awero, Jide Kosoko, Mr Latin, Papi Luwe and Fathia Balogun, drawing applause from guests at the event.
The video showed warm exchanges between the Governor and the actors, reflecting a celebration of Yoruba cinema and cultural heritage.
The Oyo @50 celebrations, which began earlier this week, feature carnivals, parades, exhibitions, and cultural performances highlighting the state’s history, resilience, and creative legacy.
Afolayan’s presence also reflects his ongoing collaboration with the Oyo State Government, including the development of the KAP Film Village in Igbojaye, aimed at boosting tourism and the creative economy in the state.
