President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to exercise restraint during the Christmas festivities, particularly in the consumption of alcohol, in the interest of peace and public safety.
The President gave the advice in a 21-second video shared by News Century TV on Sunday while receiving Eyo organisers at his Lagos residence, signalling the commencement of the forthcoming Eyo festival.
Tinubu called on citizens to celebrate responsibly and avoid actions that could endanger lives or threaten public order, stressing that the festive season should be marked by joy, unity and mutual respect.
“God will bless all of you. Stay in peace, rejoice in peace, dance in peace. No alcohol, no danger to anybody’s life. Everybody is a member of this great family.

GISTSMATE MEDIA reported President Bola Tinubu arrived in Lagos State on Saturday to spend the end-of-year holidays following official visits to Borno and Bauchi states.
Tinubu departed Abuja on Saturday on a three-state tour.
In Borno state, Tinubu commissioned projects executed by the state government under Governor Babagana Zulum in collaboration with the Federal Government.
While in Maiduguri, the President also attended the wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno State Governor and Senator, Ali Modu Sheriff, and his bride, Hadiza Kam Salem.
From Borno, Tinubu proceeded to Bauchi State, where he paid a condolence visit to the state government and the family of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the late renowned Islamic cleric and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, who died on November 27.
After the condolence visit, the President has arrived Lagos where he is expected to engage in several activities during the holiday period.
