Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain, Professor Samuel Ogunwale Ogundiran, Tapa born Scholar, Ibarapa North LG in Ibarapa North/Central Constituency has congratulated Chief (Dr) Florence Ajimobi on her nomination as Ambassador by President Bola Tinubu.
Prof. Ogundiran said the appointment of Dr. Florence is a testament of the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s positive impacts while he was alive.
Ogundiran, a renowned academic and Professor of Educational Administration and Planning at the National Open University of Nigeria reflected on Ajimobi’s impact on his career.
Speaking about Ex- Governor Ajimobi’s impacts, he said, “Late Governor Isiak Abiola Ajimobi is a man full of positivism, a leader who gives you a job to do with his full support and without interference in your roles so far you are doing it well.
“He gave me my first political appointment as the pioneer Substantive Governing Council Chairman of the then The Ibarapa (now Adeseun Ogundoyin) Polytechnic, Eruwa, Oyo State during his 2nd term as the Executive Governor of Oyo State, and he gave the full backing to succeed which eventually made me open to Governor Makinde to re-appoint me in June 2020”
Speaking on the new role of Florence Ajimobi, Prof Ogundiran said President Bola Tinubu gave the work to the right person.
“Mr President has done well, and it will be hard to see anyone against the appointment of Dr. Florence Ajimobi, a woman whose impacts were felt during Ajimobi’s regime, and a woman who had been in the centre of Oyo state APC.
“I wish Her Excellency a great exploit in the new role, and I pray that may God strengthen and guide her to fulfill the mandate of the new role”, he said.
GISTSMATE MEDIA reported that Wife of a former Governor of Oyo State, Dr (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi, was named as one of the ambassadorial nominees by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. She is among 32 nominees made up of 17 non-career and 15 career diplomats, according to a statement by Presidential spokesman, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, on Saturday.
The names, according to Bayo Onanuga, have been sent to the Senate for confirmation, days after the first batch of three names was sent.
