Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, says she has arrested the woman who secretly recorded and posted a viral gym video of her earlier this year.
The actress made the revelation during an appearance on the Honest Brunch Podcast, where she spoke about how she tracked down the woman responsible for filming her without permission.
Blessing said she had asked the gym management for information about the woman, but they initially refused to help.
āiFitness hid her information from meā¦ I found her. I got her arrested, of course,ā she said.
Before confirming the arrest, the actress also defended her natural body and criticised those who mocked her appearance after the video spread online.
āYou get BBL, you dey snap me wey get natural body. Are you stupid, sis?ā she said, dismissing comparisons between edited bodies and natural figures.
She added that she wears whatever makes her comfortable at the gym and is not trying to impress anyone.
āThis is who I have been. I wear the clothes that make me feel comfortable. Iām not trying to hide from nobody,ā she said.
The actress came under heavy online criticism after the gym video ā filmed without her consent ā showed her looking tired and without makeup. The footage sparked body-shaming comments comparing her real look with her polished social media pictures.
Blessing later reacted on Instagram, saying she goes to the gym to stay healthy, not to look glamorous.
She wrote at the time that working out is not a āfashion showā and that it is normal to look exhausted after exercise.
She also noted that she initially avoided taking legal action but eventually decided to pursue the matter.
