Paystack has terminated the employment of its co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, following public allegations of sexual misconduct.
The termination follows an initial suspension and an internal investigation.
GISTSMATE MEDIA reported that the Fintech company initially suspended Olubi from all duties on November 14, 2025, pending a formal, independent investigation into the allegations.
The public allegations stemmed from claims made by a former partner of Olubi’s and were intensified by the resurfacing of numerous sexually explicit and disturbing social media posts he made between 2009 and 2013.
These posts included jokes about colleagues and comments that were described by many as predatory.
On November 24, 2025, Olubi announced in a blog post that his contract had been terminated by Paystack.
Olubi has stated that he was not given a proper opportunity to respond before the termination and that the process might contravene company policies. His legal team is reviewing the matter and considering further steps.
Paystack (which was acquired by Stripe in 2020) stated it takes such matters seriously and is committed to a safe workplace environment, but has not made a further public statement since the news of the termination broke.
