The founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide and Senior Pastor of the Faith Tabernacle, Bishop David Oyedepo, has called for a seven-day nationwide prayer initiative to address growing insecurity in Nigeria.
The initiative was announced on Sunday by the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Pastor Paul Enenche, during his sermon at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja.
According to Enenche, Oyedepo is deeply concerned about the rising wave of violence across Nigeria.
He noted that the prayers, set to commence on Sunday, are to be held every night for the next seven days from 11 p.m. to 12 a.m., with specific prayer points prepared for the programme by Oyedepo.
He said, “Our Father in the Lord, Bishop Oyedepo, we have been discussing the situation of our country back and forth. He is very, very bothered and passionate about it, and he has called on like-minded people for us to embark on a seven-day prayer for the nation at midnight. Like from 11 p.m. to 12 a.m., starting tonight.”
This comes just a day after Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum, declared Monday, November 24, 2025, as a statewide day of fasting and prayer for peace in the state and Nigeria, following renewed security concerns across the country.
Declaring the statewide fasting and prayer, he said, “As a people of faith, we believe our security strategies must be underpinned by prayer. I, hereby declare Monday, 24th November, 2025, as a Statewide Day of Fasting and Prayer for the restoration of peace in Borno State and the country.”
He called on all residents, regardless of faith, to participate and seek divine intervention for lasting peace.
“On this day, I call upon every resident of Borno, regardless of faith, to join in prayer for the lasting peace and prosperity of our beloved state and Nigeria.
