The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has warned parents and guardians after operatives uncovered a new method used by drug traffickers to distribute illicit substances.
The alert was raised on Sunday by the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, in a statement posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
According to the NDLEA, drug traffickers are now using what appear to be ordinary flight boarding passes to conceal and transport dangerous drugs, including a substance known as “Colos.”
The agency called on parents, guardians, and the public to remain vigilant, especially regarding deliveries from dispatch riders, as these seemingly innocuous packages could be carrying harmful drugs.
He wrote, “These may appear as ordinary flight boarding pass but neatly concealed in them are dangerous substances such as Colos.
“This is one of the new methods of distributing illicit drugs in cities as uncovered by
#ndlea_nigeria operatives in Lagos.
“This is another wake up call to parents and guardians to pay attention to what dispatch riders are delivering to their children and wards.
“The merchants of death are getting more disingenuous with their packaging but #NDLEA is surely steps ahead of them.”
