Justice for Afolayan Darasimi Roseline. NANS JCC OYO Pays Visit to LAUTECH Iseyin Campus and Demands Justice
The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC), Oyo State Axis, on Friday, November 7th, 2025, paid a condolence visit to the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Iseyin Campus, and the Iseyin Local Government Area following the tragic death of one of our dear students, Afolayan Darasimi Roseline, a 200-level student who lost her life in a fatal accident caused by a reckless driver now on the run.
The visit was marked by an atmosphere of deep grief and emotion, as representatives of security agencies from all units, school authorities, and student leaders gathered to deliberate on necessary actions and to ensure the proper handling of the late student’s remains.
The leadership of NANS JCC Oyo State, ably represented by the Executive Chairman, the Public Relations Officer, and the Senior Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Student Affairs, joined the school management, security agencies, and the family of the deceased in receiving her mother, relatives, and friends, and making necessary arrangements for her return to her hometown.
As preparations continue to give Afolayan Darasimi Roseline a befitting burial, NANS JCC OYO assures the entire student community that it will work closely with all relevant authorities to ensure that justice is served without compromise. Every step and proceeding in this pursuit will be transparent, and the student community will be carried along throughout the process.
We also urge all students and members of the Iseyin community to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding during this difficult period, as NANS continues to champion the cause of justice through peaceful and lawful means.
Furthermore, the leadership has obtained photographic evidence of the driver’s burnt bus, reportedly set ablaze by unknown individuals in reaction to the incident. While we strongly condemn all forms of violence and vandalism, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to pursuing justice legally, transparently, and responsibly.
NANS JCC OYO calls on the Nigerian Police Force and all relevant security agencies to conduct a thorough, transparent, and credible investigation into the matter and ensure that the perpetrator of this tragic act is brought to justice swiftly.
Justice for Darasimi!!! An Injury to One is an Injury to All.
