At the age of 75, Pastor James Ajibola, an Ogun State-based cleric, and his 63-year-old wife, Mrs. Janet Ajibola, became first-time parents after 40 years of marriage, welcoming a set of twin babies into their lives.
Their remarkable story has since transformed their once-quiet home into a kind of pilgrimage site, as people from far and wide continue to visit , drawn by the sheer wonder of what many describe as a modern-day miracle.
Looking back on the experience, the couple shared how the naming ceremony of their twins drew an unusually large crowd, not only of well-wishers but also of skeptics who came just to confirm the news for themselves.
“Many people didn’t believe it was true. They said they had to see the babies with their own eyes before they could believe such a thing had happened, “they recalled.
For the Ajibolas, the birth of their twins isn’t just a personal blessing , it has become a powerful testimony that continues to inspire and stir hope in others.
What made the celebration even more remarkable was the presence of Muslim leaders and adherents of other faiths, who joined the Ajibolas in celebrating what many have described as a clear sign of God’s wonders. Reflecting on the day, Mrs. Janet Ajibola said the size of the crowd wasn’t entirely surprising. “Many people you saw at the naming ceremony came to see for themselves if it was true that I gave birth to twins in my old age. Some of them had heard the news but couldn’t believe it until they came and saw the babies with their own eyes”. She shared with a smile.
For the couple, the moment was not just about naming their long-awaited children , it was a public testimony, a deeply moving celebration that drew believers and skeptics alike.
Another miraculous part of the story is that the birth of the twins came without any form of medical intervention, surgery, or IVF procedure. Remarkably, the babies were delivered naturally, and within just two hours of labour , a rare and awe-inspiring occurrence, especially given Mrs. Ajibola’s age. For many who witnessed or heard about the birth, it was nothing short of a divine miracle.
