Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, have killed two policemen and abducted Ada Anioma Joan Onyemaechi, a former female commissioner, during a church service in Asaba, Delta State.
The assailants targeted The King Jesus and I Church, located off DBS Road, on the evening of Tuesday, July 30, 2024. They opened fire on the two policemen assigned to protect the church, killing them on the spot.
According to the Nigerian Tribune, after the officers were killed, the gunmen seized the former commissioner, who is a well-known figure in the community. As of the report, her family has not yet been contacted by the abductors.
The State Police Command has launched a manhunt to locate and apprehend the perpetrators.
