I Don’t Have Anything To Do With Nnamdi Kanu – Tompolo Disowns Viral Ultimatum To FG On Detained IPOB Leader

The Ibe-Ebidouwei of the Ijaw nation and Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, has disowned a trending social media report linking him with a 21-day ultimatum to the Federal Government over the continued detention of the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

This was contained in a statement signed by his Media Consultant, Dr Paul Bebenimibo, copies of which were made available to journalists in Warri on Sunday.

It noted that “Tompolo did not author the said publication.”

“High Chief Ekpemupolo has nothing to do with the issue of Nnamdi Kanu. It is clearly the handwork of Tompolo’s enemies, who are out there to discredit and pull him down because of his stand against illegal crude oil activities in the Niger Delta region,” the statement read.

It added, “We wish to state unequivocally and unambiguously that Tompolo did not author the said publication. High Chief Ekpemupolo has nothing to do with the issue of Nnamdi Kanu.

“It is clearly the handiwork of Tompolo’s enemies, who are out there to discredit and pull him down because of his stand against illegal crude oil activities in the Niger Delta region.

“This set of people has failed and will continue to fail because he will not relent in carrying out his duty to totally eradicate illegal oil activities in the region.

“We wish to reassure the Federal Government, led by our dynamic President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that Tompolo is with him and will continue to support the renewed agenda of his government.

“We wish to add that Tompolo remains firm and reaffirms his endorsement of Mr President for a second term and continues to work for its realisation. Once again, the Federal Government and the general public should ignore the said publication.”

Recall that publisher and activist, Omoyele Sowore recently led a protest in Abuja, to demand the immediate release of the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

PUNCH Online reported on Friday that the Federal High Court in Abuja adjourned Kanu’s trial till Monday, October 27, to enable him to open his defence in the terrorism charges filed against him.

Justice James Omotosho fixed the new date after Kanu informed the court that his former legal team, led by former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN), had yet to release his case file to him.
