Armed bandits have killed two operatives of the Mobile Police Force, MOPOL, in an attack on Tsafe town, Zamfara State.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter insurgency reporter, the incident occurred late Sunday night when the assailants stormed the outskirts of Tsafe along the Yankuzo road.
Security sources said the operatives, who were on duty in the area, came under heavy gunfire from the bandits and were killed on the spot.
The attackers were said to have fled into the surrounding forest after the operation, while security reinforcements were later deployed to the area.
