Former Ekiti Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is facing serious internal issues and may perform poorly in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Fayose expressed concern over the state of the party, warning that it could come fourth in the next presidential election if urgent reforms are not made.
He also described his absence from the party’s recent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting as unfortunate.
According to Fayose: “PDP will come 4th in the next general election. A lot is wrong with our party (PDP), and that is the naked truth, and it is unfortunate. I was duly invited.”
The PDP has been embroiled in several layers of crisis within its leadership ranks.
The crisis led to chieftains like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President David Mark, and others defecting to the opposition coalition that adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
