Officials of the State Security Services (SSS) and the police shot rounds of live ammunition and tear gas to disperse protesters and journalists covering the ongoing protests in Abuja.
According to Premium Times, the SSS officials, masked and in black uniforms, arrived in several Toyota Sienna vans, and started shooting live rounds at the peaceful demonstrators at the MKO Abiola Stadium.
This was shortly after the heavily armed police officers stationed at the main entrance of the stadium fired tear gas at the protesters. Several protesters were harassed and arrested.
At about 12:15 p.m, an official of the SSS, wearing a black mask, cracked his rifle and moved towards journalists covering the protests. Then he started firing.
The pellets of the bullets rattled the windscreen of one Sienna vehicle, while three bullets pierced the trunk of the car conveying PREMIUM TIMES correspondents deployed to cover the protests.

Hmmm Nigeria we need god intervention that’s
Kudos to the originator of this post. Keep pouring oil into the flame of fire ignited already. Shey , you guys are more concerned about traffic on your page, but never thought of what might become of the innocent nogerians if this nonsense continues.
many nations in Africa that have turned to dead zones now started with this so-called “right to protest”. In as much as we failed to learn from using dialogue to settle issues. We will learn the hard way, just like my people in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Sudan, and Lybia among others. Some people said Nigeria will not go beyond 2015, but God saved us from their projections even with all their efforts using terrorism. The next move is to send social media apps that are not allowed in their countries but are free in Africa to fasten their wish. I hope we open our eyes to see where we are heading. Since our fathers’ whose job was farming became old, none of us want to farm, but we want miracles to happen or expect the President to send his family to farm and give us free food. A country where secondary school students use iPhones will be telling the world they are suffering……hnnnmmnnn. time will tell.
