BREAKING: Saraki, PDP Leaders Storm PDP Secretariat For Meeting (Video)

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki, along with key leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have arrived at the party’s National Secretariat (Wadata Plaza) for a meeting amid deepening internal crisis.

Saraki, who chairs the PDP reconciliation committee, arrived alongside Bauchi State Governor and chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed, and other prominent party figures.

The development comes as the PDP battles fresh factional divisions following last week’s recognition of Senator Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary by acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum.

The decision has been fiercely rejected by a rival camp led by Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja.

While Damagum’s faction insists that the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting has been postponed, the Arapaja group maintains that the NEC meeting remains on course and must hold as scheduled.

The confusion deepened as both camps scheduled overlapping meetings for the same day and venue. The Damagum-led leadership fixed its expanded caucus meeting for 1 p.m., while the Arapaja faction scheduled the NEC meeting for 2 p.m., both at Wadata Plaza.

Earlier on Monday, heavily armed police officers had barricaded the PDP Secretariat, preventing members of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) from accessing the NEC hall to hold their own scheduled meeting. The BoT was later forced to relocate to an alternative venue.
