Iran launched a medium-range ballistic missile, the Sejjil, at Israel for the first time, stated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to the Iranian news outlet Tasnim News.
The IRGC claims that as part of the twelfth wave of the True Promise 3 operation, ” two-stage super-heavy long-range Sejjil missiles” were fired at Israel.
They also added that missile strikes on Israel will be precise and continuous.
Meanwhile, Israeli media report that during the latest attack, Iran launched only one missile at Israel, which was successfully intercepted.
What is known about the Sejjil missile
It’s worth noting that the Sejjil is an Iranian two-stage medium-range ballistic missile powered by solid fuel.
It was first introduced in 2008 and has since been considered one of the most technologically advanced missiles in Iran’s arsenal.
According to unconfirmed reports, the missile can strike targets at a distance of up to 2,000–2,500 km.
The Sejjil missile is distinguished by its high deployment speed and mobility due to its use of solid fuel.
The exchange of missile strikes between Israel and Iran has been ongoing since last week.
