Dangote Petroleum Refinery has slashed the gantry price Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol to ₦825 per litre from N835 per litre as competition continues in the domestic market.
Last month, the 650,000 barrels per day refinery reduced the gantry price of petrol to N835 per litre from N865 per litre.
Checks by Vanguard indicated that the latest adjustment is targeted at giving customers more value as well as consolidate its leadership position in the domestic market.
GISTSMATE MEDIA reported that an economist and energy sector analyst Kelvin Emmanuel stated that the Dangote Refinery is currently the only facility in Nigeria genuinely producing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly referred to as petrol.
Emmanuel made the claim while speaking during the Morning Brief program on Channels Television last week Monday.

“I’ve always said it, and I stand by it: the only refinery in Nigeria producing PMS is Dangote. Dangote is doing 44 million liters of PMS on a daily basis,” he declared.
“In contrast, NNPC is not refining PMS – they are only blending,” he added.
“Warri has a catalytic reforming unit, but Warri’s catalytic reforming unit is not functional,” Emmanuel said.
