Ekiti Varsity Student Slumps, Dies During Test

A yet to be identified student of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, BOUESTI, has died after he collapsed during assessment test.

According to reports received by GISTSMATE MEDIA, 100 level students of Science Laboratory Technology, SLT department were having a certain course test when the said student suddenly collapsed.

He was rushed to the school health centre, but was later transported to the state hospital where he was later pronounced dead, a source told our correspondent.

Confirming the tragic incident, the SLT department Speaker of the school said the development is “unfortunate”.

He also called on relevant authorities to review the conditions surrounding test procedures in the institution.

Official Statement on the Loss of a 100-Level SLT Student During Test In UCRC

It is with a heavy heart that I write to formally acknowledge the tragic passing of one of our beloved 100-level students during the recent test. On behalf of the student body of the Science Laboratory technology, I extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and classmates of the deceased.

This unfortunate incident has deeply shaken us all, and we must honor the life lost by working collectively to ensure such a tragedy never happens again.

As your Honorable Speaker, I am currently engaging with the departmental authorities, test coordinators, and relevant stakeholders to review the conditions surrounding our test procedures.

We call on all students to remain calm, orderly, and united as we press forward with reforms to ensure safety, dignity, and fairness during academic exercises. Let us mourn with respect and rise with responsibility.

May the soul of the departed rest in peace.
