5 Countries With The Lowest Male Population

The population balance between male to female is not always equal around the world as there are fewer men than women in some countries.

This difference can be attributed to greater male mortality rates, migration, or social and economic problems.

These differences in population between men and women have an impact on relationships, families, and workplaces in daily life.

Here, are five countries with the lowest male population.

Moldova
Moldova, a landlocked country in Eastern Europe located in the northeastern Balkans formally known as the Republic of Moldova has the lowest male population in the world due to higher male mortality rates and the quest for better job possibilities outside the country. The male-to-female ratio in the country is between 85 men to 100 women.

Latvia
Latvia, a Baltic country in Northern Europe formally known as the Republic of Latvia also has a huge gender imbalance, with a male-to-female ratio in the country between 85 men for every 100 women. The low male population is caused by increased male death rates, particularly from illnesses related to lifestyle, as well as emigration, particularly among younger men looking for work abroad.

Armenia
Many Armenian men have left their country and travelled abroad for work, particularly to Russia, contributing to the low male population. This is caused by higher male mortality rates, migration, and the high desire for male children which has greatly influenced birth rates in the country. Armenia’s male-to-female ratio in the country is also between 85 men for every 100 women. Only a few men are available in the country thereby affecting marriage patterns and an ageing population.

Russia’s women live to 75, but most men are dead by alcohol at 55 and unhealthy lifestyles.
